Sir,
8th November '46
I have the honour to enclose for your information a copy of a letter dated 6th instant from this Dep't to the P. & O. Agents.
Stating that William Cameron of the Hong Kong Police Force had failed to sail for Hong Kong in the S.S. Himalaya on the 5th instant.
Subsequent inquiries made by the P. & O. Agents at the Port office, it now seems probable that Cameron did after all embark in the Himalaya; the telegram mentioned in the foregoing letter may have referred to some other man of the same name.
I shall be glad to be further informed whether this was so or not.
